Word from the Minister
The Minsiter's word

The start of the website of the Ministry of Trade was done carefully and methodically until the end.

From the beginning, it was necessary to start with the most urgent steps:

  • setting up a convivial space with less uncertainties;
  • spreading fair price ideology through a voluntarist approach of equity in trade transactions;
  • finally, embarking on punishing defaulters to reduce or otherwise to contain pockets of resistance.

We want to seize this opportunityto welcome andpay tribute once more to thehighandgreat visionofthe Head of the State, His Excellency Paul BIYA, whose Major Accomplishments are synonymous with social justice and welfare of Cameroonians.Fromthis perspective,the variousorders relating totax exemption forconsumer productsas well asthe establishment of the Consumer Product Supply Regulatory Authority (MIRAP)areboth decisivesteps inacomprehensive programme aimed at making Cameroonthe place to be, atruly emergent country by 2035.

In truth, we are aware that the struggle is far from being over, but at least, the Cameroonian model of fight against high prices remains a regional benchmark envied and copied by many brother countries. We are rightfully proud of it. Undoubtedly, the best is yet to come.

That is why weare pleased toextend a warm welcometo all ourpartnersworldwide.We are expressing the wish that this new website should give to everybody the opportunity to discover a country endowed with so many opportunities and the courage to negotiate and have good business deals in Cameroon, with Cameroon.
