Periodic markets handed over to local authorities
Periodic markets handed over to local authorities

Thirteen market-places  built using the funds of the public investment budget were handed over to local authorities (councils).

The operation, which was headed by the Minister of Trade and led on the field by the Secretary General and the Director of General Affairs, came within the framework of the first phase of the transfer of powers to local authorities (councils). The programme was launched by the Ministry of Trade in 2011.

From Pela to Mbaigom, through Salak, Mbai Mboum, Datchéka, Ndangueng, Zouaye, Mbaila, Ekoudendi, etc… it was noted that a lot of people were seriously interested in the move. The large popular mobilization around the forward-looking buildings is a testimony to the population’s gratitude to the government which are meeting the challenge of major accomplishments. The second phase of the operation which has already been announced is awaited with impatience by the localities concerned.
